Happy Monday and start of Christmas week! It definitely does not feel like it’s almost Christmas to me. This past month has just flown by.
This weekend I went to my first Penguin’s game on Friday, which was fun. I don’t really follow hockey, or any professional sport, but I got free tickets through work. Saturday was Eric’s birthday, so I spent the morning baking him a cake and then we went out for a late brunch. I worked at the restaurant on Sunday and cut open two of my fingers while cutting lemons. Occupational hazard. Now they are wrapped in really attractive band-aids. So much for having cute nails for Christmas.
I’m looking forward to having a slower week at work and then being off on Friday. Eric and I are staying home on Christmas to make lasagna (we’re keeping it easy around here) and watch Christmas movies.
We’re going to visit and celebrate with our families the first weekend of January. I still have to do the bulk of my shopping. Since we have an extra week, I’m just going to wait until after Christmas. It’s pretty much unbearable to be out in a public place at this point anyway. So. many. people.
Mostly I just want to take it a little slower this week and spend time enjoying all that’s left of the holiday season. This is my favorite time of year. It’s been such a milestone year and it will be nice to have some down time to reflect on it. Mostly highs, but a few lows, too. (I’m planning a full year in review post that will be up sometime before January).
I hope you all have a great week and get to spend a little extra time with the people who are most important to you.
