Christmas in Pittsburgh

There’s no shortage of holiday events in Pittsburgh, even as the season nears its end. If you are looking for something fun to fill your days over the next week or so, check some of these things out.

Row House Cinema “Christmas Traditions” series: They are playing Christmas classics like “A Christmas Story” and “Christmas Vacation” through Christmas Day. Starting Dec. 26 they will be playing “Casablanca” and “Mary Poppins” along with others. This is a really cool theater in Lawrenceville that is located next to Atlas Bottle Works. They have every beer you could want there. You can buy a six pack and then drink it while watching a movie.

Phipp’s Conservatory & Botanical Gardens Winter Flower Show and Light Garden: The show is set to music and features winter plants and flowers. There are strings of LED lights, orbs and light fountains.

The ice rink at PPG Place: This is a classic winter activity. The rink has a giant Christmas tree in the middle and is so festive. After you are done you could head to one of the restaurants in Market Square. I recommend NOLA on the Square, which features Creole inspired food.

Pittsburgh Ballet Theater: The ballet will be performing The Nutcracker through Dec. 27. I’ve never been, but I’ve heard it’s a great performance.

What holiday activities have you done so far this month?
