Happy New Year!
I hope everyone is surviving the long first week back to work after the holidays. I always get a little bummed after Christmas because I love the holidays. However, I am excited to get this year rolling. I always try to set some goals for the coming year, so I have something to work toward. Below are a few of the things I’d like to accomplish this year.
Pay down my debt
I have a substantial amount of debt, both student loans and credit cards. I’ve been working on a couple of debt-related posts that I plan on sharing this year. I’ve been taking some steps to reduce my interest rates and make an effort to pay off some of my debt this year. It really weighs on me and causes some anxiety that I just don’t want to have anymore.
Be more organized
Anyone who knows me knows that I am an extremely messy person. I throw my clothes on the floor, will let dishes sit for days, have layers of stuff piled in my car’s backseat, etc. I’ve been slowly trying to work on this the past couple of months already. I’ve been getting rid of a lot of excess stuff that is causing clutter in my life. I always feel better when things are clean and organized, but somehow I always manage to get out of control again.
Create a skincare routine
I don’t put a lot of thought or effort into my skincare routine now. I use cleansers and moisturizers, but nothing very consistent. I want to start taking better care of my skin and making sure it’s hydrated and in the best shape possible to prevent aging.
I’m not going to say lose weight, because I feel like that is setting me up for failure from the beginning. However, I do want to stop eating out so much and eat more real foods. I’ve been doing that so far this week and it feels good. I’ve been having more salads, veggies and fruits for my meals and snacks. I’ve been making smoothies a lot more, too.
